OccasionsHow to host a party where nobody misses the alcohol
A beer, a fizz, a gin alternative and something interesting. What to buy, how much, and what it costs.
Updated Picked by the Alcohol-Free Drinks team

More of your guests drink less than you think. The Health Survey for England found 24% of adults drank no alcohol in 2024, and Drinkaware says 91% of UK drinkers use at least one technique to cut down. A good alcohol-free spread is now just good hosting.
What to buy
Beer: the one thing guests will always reach for. Buy more than you think, and keep it cold.
Fizz for the toast: Freixenet 0.0% is £5 a bottle at Tesco, Eisberg Sparkling Blanc £4.10 at Waitrose, and Nozeco £3.32 at Asda.
A gin alternative: Tanqueray 0.0% (£15 at Tesco) makes a convincing G&T with good tonic and lots of ice. Seedlip Garden 108 (£22 at Ocado) is lighter and herbal.
Make it look like a real drink
Proper glasses, ice and a garnish do most of the work. Nobody wants to be the one holding a can of cola.

IMPOSSIBREW Enhanced Lager
For the beer, we pick IMPOSSIBREW: the #1 alcohol-free beer on Trustpilot, as seen on Dragons' Den, and brewed to help you unwind. Love it or return it guarantee.
