MarketAlcohol-free spirits and fizz: the fastest-growing shelf
Tesco says alcohol-free spirit sales are up 17% in a year. Premium bottles that taste closest to the real thing are leading.

Tesco says its sales of alcohol-free spirits are up 17% year on year, and volumes of no and low-alcohol beer and cider are up 12.5%. The fastest growth is in premium products that come closest to the drink they replace.
Wine is following. IWSR says UK no-alcohol wine volumes grew at 15% a year from 2019 to 2024, and Gen Z and Millennials make up 67% of no and low-alcohol wine buyers. Elton John Zero, a £10 alcohol-free sparkling Chardonnay, became the UK's best-selling premium 0% fizz after launching in Sainsbury's in January.
A maturing market
NIQ says just over one in four UK households buy low or no-alcohol drinks each year, and that figure has stopped rising. Growth now comes from existing buyers buying more often. That favours drinks good enough to buy twice.
In our ranking, Tanqueray 0.0% (£15 at Tesco) and Freixenet 0.0% (£5) are the two we would buy first for a G&T and a toast.

IMPOSSIBREW Triple Hopped IPA
